The 82nd Annual Hotel Ezra Cornell
The 82nd Annual Hotel Ezra Cornell took place April 12-15, 2007 at the Hotel School and Statler Hotel where guests enjoyed a multitude of educational and leisure events put together entirely by students of the School. Roundtable with Robert Mandelbaum '81
Robert Mandelbaum, Director of Research Information Services for PKF Hospitality Research and '81 graduate of the Hotel School, was the keynote speaker for the CHS roundtable on February 12, 2007. Mr. Mandelbaum presented to students the latest trends in the U.S. hotel market as well as reasons why students should get involved with CHS during and after college. Students were able to discuss any concerns that they had about their careers, especially consulting-related careers, with Mr. Mandelbaum
Annual Hotel Show Party at the BLVD
On Saturday evening of Hotel Show weekend, members of the Collegiate Chapter attended a party at The BLVD (where The Apprentice Finale and Law and Order were filmed) which was open exclusively to hotelies. Students mingled with fellow students and alumni and enjoyed refreshing drinks and delicious food.
CHS Hotel Show Tours
During the annual New York Hotel Show, the Collegiate Chapter toured some of the finest luxury hotels in the city: The Waldorf = Astoria, The Peninsula New York, The Mandarin Oriental New York, and The Four Seasons New York. The tours were led by Hotel School alumni who provided students an insider look at the back-of-house and front-of-house areas of the properties where they work. Students were able to gain insight into the latest trends in facilities design and management, by touring each of these hotels.
Homecoming Tailgate 2006

Students, faculty, and alumni gathered together on a chilly Saturday morning to enjoy some delicious food and laughs at the School of Hotel Administration Pre-game Homecoming Tailgate. The event provided a time for current students to network and meet up with alumni while celebrating two of the Hotel School's most beloved organizations, the Cornell Hotel Society, Collegiate Chapter and Hotel Ezra Cornell. Students also cheered on the Cornell Big Red as they battle for victory against the Colgate Raiders.
The event was sponsored by the Dean's Office, the Cornell Hotel Society, Collegiate Chapter, and Hotel Ezra Cornell.
Apple Picking at Indian Creek Orchards
Students met up with faculty and members of the CHS Executive Board to pick and taste fresh, delicious apples and to enjoy wagon rides around one of Ithaca's finest apple orchards. The community-building event provided a great way for students to get to know other students in the Hotel School on a more personal level.
Roundtable with Barbara Higgins '88
The first CHS, CC roundtable for 2006-2007 featured Barbara Higgins '88, Director of Operations Integration for Disneyland Resort Paris. The roundtable provided students an opportunity to network intimately with a distinguished leader of the hospitality industry; to receive career advice; and to discuss industry issues that interest them.

Hotel School Club Fair Fall 2006
The Hotel School Club Fair, which took place in the Statler World Atrium, was a time for Hotel School students to learn about how they get can involved with any of the numerous clubs and organizations in the Hotel School. Sixteen organizations, including the CHS, CC, were present to answer students' questions about how they can play an active role in organizations that they are interested in joining.
Welcome Back Picnic 2006
August 22, 2006, Park Atrium, Beck Center
The CHS and HEC Welcome Back Picnic 2006 provided Hotel School students the perfect opportunity to learn about how to get involved with the Cornell Hotel Society, the world's largest alumni network, and Hotel Ezra Cornell, a student-run leadership conference that has been an 82-year old tradition at the Hotel School. Board members from both CHS and HEC spoke to students about how to explore their interests in hospitality by getting involved in these organizations year-round. Student representatives from the Statler Human Resources Department were also present to provide students information on how to get their first jobs at Cornell through the Statler Hotel next door. The picnic was an exciting time for new students to meet other students in their classes and to network with members of CHS, CC and HEC while enjoying delicious food and excellent music provided by a live DJ.

CHS/Ye Host Internship Panel '07
CHS and Ye Host co-produced an extraordinary internship panel for all undergraduates. The panel consisted of eight seasoned undergraduates, each in specific fields of expertise: Jonathan Kracer – Bank of America(Consulting) Jennifer Wong – Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank(Finance) Richard Lou – Ernst & Young(Real Estate/Consulting) Yin Law – Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Dinex Group, Daniel Boulud(Corporate Hotel) Kinnari Shah – Fête Devon Dickerson – Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo(Design) Mina Kay – Hillstone Restaurant Group(F&B Operations) Zoe Cohen – Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Sodexho (Sales and Marketing) The event turned out extremely well, with over 50 students!
