Cornell Cares Day 2008 - Help us warm the Homeless of Las Vegas!

Help us warm the Homeless
of Las Vegas!

This year, as part of Cornell Cares Day 2008, the Cornell Alumni Association of Nevada will be assisting Homeless Helpers Nevada.

Homeless Helpers are dedicated and committed to serving the working poor and homeless community in the Las Vegas valley. They provide meals at night time to best accommodate those working during the day and will always maintain a mobile feeding service to reach those unable to easily access the shelters themselves.

Cornell Cares Day is an international day of service for alumni chapters of Cornell University. It occurs in January so that students home for the holidays can participate with their local alumni chapter.

Homeless Helpers is in need of about 500 blankets.

They were supposed to receive a shipment from California Marines but because of the recent fires, the blankets were diverted to needed areas in California.

Donations of blankets can be made any time before January 5th. If you would like to donate a blanket or money for a blanket, please call Kate Kastenbaum, SHA 05, at 702.449.4601 to arrange a pickup. Volunteers will also be needed to distribute the blankets. If interested, please let Kate know.

Thank you and may you enjoy a WARM and happy holiday season!
